(IBM Rochester) D-33 Boston - Religious Thinking
Last night Merit preached for 3 hours. Can't believe that she becomes so pious. But she talks about her indecent tricks while being a courier and the emptiness afterwards, and the happiness and satisfaction after knowing God and meeting Darcy in church. And I think she's right when she mentions that God gives me the early chances in studying Bible. And perhaps the reason I'm working in Taipei, which I've never dreamed of two years ago, is that God arranges it all for me, since I didn't really insist on anything -- going back to Hualien without resistence soon after the graduation, for example. Maybe God is waiting for me to lean upon Him; maybe my heart is too hard to accept Him as my savior. Maybe the time hasn't arrived yet... hope it's not too late when I decide to take Him.
Visit a shopping center, which is surrounded by Sheradon and other big hotels, downtown Boston. But the prices is higher than those in Rochester, and seldom anything new/funny to me, except for handmade porcelain/ceramic stuff. Buy salt and pepper cat containers for Vivian and Merit, 5 sets of buttons for sisters-in-law, and a dog clock, a dog mug and a dog tile for myself.

(IBM Rochester) D-32 Boston - Book
Wake up at 3 pm... What a waste of time in Boston! Walk to Harvard Square and spend time in a bookstore for 2 hours. Realize that it'll be nuts of me to buy books in the US (for the prices and the weight), I decide to order books online. However, I buy two audio cassettes about poetry, and hope they're pronounced in British English since they're published by BBC.
Take dinner at home and watch Andrew Lloyd Webber's musicals, and one of them is "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" with Merit. Find out that I know more than Merit does about the Bible in the order of Books and what happens to whom. But religious people don't care much about that; they read the Bible in a religious way. For me, as long as I can locate a certain verse faster than others do, I'm happy.

Still stay home today. Was thinking of walking to Harvard Sqr. at daytime, but didn't wake up until 12:30 pm. And it also rains. My flu is still there, so I quit this chance.
Vivian comes back at 2 pm, and makes tomato and fried eggs and noodles, and the meal goes with jokes. She's funny to be with; I don't remember why I was kind of afraid of talking to her in senior high.
